PICO DO PAPAGAIO (PARROT PEAK)

At 982 meters above sea level, Pico do Papagaio is the second highest point on Ilha Grande, just below Pico da Pedra d’Água (1,035 meters). From the top, you'll get a panoramic view (about 300º) of almost the entire island – and on a clear day, you can even spot Pedra da Gávea in Rio de Janeiro’s South Zone.

The trail to the summit is the most challenging on the island. It cuts through dense forest, with steep terrain and no view of the sky. The path includes rocky sections and fallen trees that you’ll need to navigate.
